Career Firefighter Positions:
The Batesville Fire Department is currently hiring for two (2) career firefighter positions. Recruit Firefighter and Lateral Firefighter applications are being accepted.
Career Firefighter Minimum Requirements:
– 21 years old to apply but not 40 years old at the time of appointment; or military veterans who have served 20 years with an honorable discharge and will not be older than 40 years and 6 months old at the time of appointment
– Valid drivers license
– High school diploma or GED
– Indiana Firefighter I & II certification
– Indiana EMT-Basic Certification
– Valid CPAT card by the final interview *not required for lateral applicants*
*Out of state applicants may submit valid NREMT, IFSAC, or Pro-Board certifications*

Part-Time Positions:
The Batesville Fire Department has an ongoing process for part-time EMT Basics, Advanced EMT’s, and Paramedics. *Fire certifications are not required for part-time positions*
EMT-Basic Requirements:
– 18 Years of Age
– Valid Indiana EMT-B certification
– Valid Driver’s License
– Current CPR card
– Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Current Pay Rate: $18.09/Hour
EMT-Advanced Requirements:
– 18 Years of Age
– Valid Indiana Advanced EMT certification
– Valid Driver’s License
– Current CPR card
– Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Current Pay Rate: $20.30/Hour
Paramedic Requirements:
– 18 Years of Age
– Valid Indiana Paramedic License
– Current ACLS and PALS
– Current CPR card
– Valid Driver’s License
– Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Paid on Call Firefighter:
The Batesville Fire Department is always accepting applications for Paid on Call Firefighters. No experience necessary, training will be provided!
Paid on Call Firefighter Requirements:
– 18 years of age
– Valid Drivers License
– Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
– Ability to pass a physical agility test
– Live in Batesville or the immediate surrounding areas with the ability to respond in a reasonable amount of time
