Payment location and court hearings are located on the 2nd floor of the Memorial Building.
The City Court Judge presides over Civil cases for disputes of $3,000 or less and Criminal cases or Traffic Violations with penalties for 1 year in jail or less.
The Batesville City Court has jurisdiction in both Ripley and Franklin Counties.
FILING FEE INCREASE NOTIFICATION
Effective July 1, 2025, court fees for any Civil Process filed with Batesville City Court will be increasing to $157.00. If Sheriff service is requested a processing fee of $28 will be added bringing the total to $185.00. This increase is a mandatory adjustment for Batesville City Court to be in accordance with Indiana State Guidelines for Civil Process filing fees.
