BATESVILLE, Ind. Bike and Pedestrian Trail Expansion Continues
Beginning Monday, April 6, work to expand the Batesville bike and pedestrian trail will continue along the Northwest side of State Road 229, adjacent to CVS. Phase II of the project will only impact the right lane of southbound traffic on State Road 229 between the Interstate 74 Eastbound exit ramp and State Road 46 with temporary lane closures 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

This project, which was first approved in 2019, is a significant step toward creating safer and more connected pathways for our residents to use and enjoy. The entire project will eventually encompass the area on State Road 229 between Franklin Street and Six Pines Ranch Road. However, the work will be completed in phases, with the entire project anticipated to be finished by November 2026. We understand there will be temporary inconveniences, and at the same time, we are excited to see this important work continue.
