INDOT State Road 46 Resurfacing Project Begins June 2
BATESVILLE, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will begin a milling and overlay asphalt project on State Road 46 starting Tuesday, June 2.
Contractor Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc. will oversee the resurfacing, which spans from 0.3 miles west of SR 229 (near Hillcrest Estates) to 1.1 miles east of SR 129 (approximately a quarter mile west of Merkel Road). Work is expected to wrap up by the end of July 2026.
Traffic Impact
• Lane Closures: Expect periodic lane restrictions along SR 46 for the duration of the project.
• Flow of Traffic: At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times.
• Travel Advice: Drivers should expect delays, plan extra travel time, or choose alternate routes.
