All city residents owning, possessing, harboring, or caring for any canine or feline in the city limits are required to obtain a pet license. Pet licenses can be obtained at the Batesville police department, and are good for one year from date of issue. The licensing fee is $2.00 per animal. Information needed to apply for the license includes:
-Name of Animal
-Markings (Example: all black with one white paw)
-Whether the animal is male or female
-Type of Canine or Feline
-Age
-Color
All canine’s and feline’s are required to have received a rabies vaccination prior to applying for a pet license.
