The Batesville Redevelopment Commission meets at 4:00 p.m., Memorial building, 132 S. Main Street, Batesville, In. on the 4th Wednesday, monthly.

The primary function of the commission is to investigate, study, and survey areas needing  redevelopment within the corporate boundaries of the municipality. Other duties include:

  • Promote the use of land in the manner that best serves the municipality
  • Cooperate with other departments and agencies, to combat and eliminate blight
  • Make reports and findings, which are open to inspection by the public
  • Select, acquire, and redevelop blighted areas in the manner that best serves the interests of the municipality and its citizens, in accordance with I.C. 36-7-14-11

Board of Parks and Recreation

Event Type

The Parks and Recreation Board oversees many well-manicured city parks, including the Memorial Pool.

The board meets on the third Wednesday of February, May, August, and November at 6:30 pm in the Memorial Building, unless otherwise noted.

The four members are appointed by the Mayor. The Board has the power to perform all acts necessary to acquire and develop sites and facilities, and to conduct any programs as are generally understood to be park and recreation functions in accordance with I.C. 36-10-3 et seq.
