JOHN KUNTZ JOINS CITY OF BATESVILLE STAFF AS CITY ENGINEER
Batesville, Indiana (January 9, 2025)– Mayor John Irrgang, on behalf of the City of Batesville, is excited to welcome John Kuntz as our new City Engineer.
A familiar face in the community, John grew up in Batesville and graduated from Oldenburg Academy, where he was an active member of the cross-country and track teams. He brings a wealth of experience to this role, earning a degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and subsequently working for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the City of Shelbyville for the next eleven years.
While working for the City of Shelbyville, John successfully participated in the revitalization of the downtown historic district as well as the development of the Knauf Trails. These projects demonstrate his ability to implement impactful and community-enhancing projects.
As City Engineer, John will play a crucial role in advancing Batesville’s priorities, including enhancing public safety, particularly concerning traffic flow and pedestrian safety. We are confident that his expertise and commitment to our community will make him a valuable asset as our city continues to grow and thrive.
