Batesville Improvement Grant opportunity available in 2024
BATESVILLE, Ind. – The City of Batesville is continuing its efforts to revitalize the community by providing matching funds for storefront renovations. The Batesville Improvement Grant (BIG) provides matching funds to small business owners wanting to renovate the exterior of their structure.
This is a matching grant program where tenants and property owners can receive dollar-for-dollar matching funds up to $5,000 to finance direct costs associated with approved renovation activities. The program is for permanent exterior façade projects and must be completed by December 31, 2024. Tenants must have a minimum of two years remaining on their lease or an option to renew to receive funding.
“With matching funds of up to $5,000, the BIG program can significantly reduce the financial burden of exterior renovations for our small businesses. The program was launched in 2018 by the Batesville Economic Development Commission and provides the opportunity to improve the economic vitality of our local businesses and is a re-investment in our community,” said Economic Development Director Sarah Lamping.
To receive an award, renovation plans must be approved by the Batesville Economic Development Commission (BEDC) and are subject to local ordinances. Eligible projects can include, but are not limited to awnings, windows, painting, structural or design changes, exterior finishes, or door repairs.
